The Shimano Dura-Ace PD-7810 SPD SL pedal is Shimano’s
second generation 10 speed pedal. The most visible change is the wider
platform. The larger platform size provides more surface area to spread the rider’s
weight and makes for easier entry.
Shimano also replaced the plastic cover over the body
with a stainless steel plate. This enhancement improves the pedal’s response
(no sloppy movements here) and increases the mileage of the pedal. The stainless steel plate will not wear out
like plastic plates.
The Dura-Ace PD-7810 from Shimano uses the same 3 bearing
system as the previous model and is lighter then the Shimano Ultegra PD-6620. The 3 bearings make it a touch smoother then
the less expensive Ultegra version and increases the life of the pedal. It has an
aluminum body making it light and durable.
