The Continental Grand Prix Supersonic Tire is a race to
the finish - a light and fast tire.
Competing with the likes of Veloflex, Continental has stripped this tire down to
make it one of the lightest tires on the market.
The Continental Supersonic weighs in at a mere 160grams
for the 700x23 size. The casing is 3 plies at 330tpi and matted to an
incredibly fast, low rolling resistance rubber tread. The slick rubber tread
contains black carbon and silica to further reduce its rolling resistance. The
Supersonic is a race day tire only by design and is not suited for applications
that require a more durable tire.
Though durability is sacrificed in pursuit of weight
savings and speed, the ride quality is very supple. This positions the Conti Supersonic
in the area of tubulars providing excellent ride quality for an ultra
performance clincher tire.
