Over the years, we’ve each had multiple bikes, been on hundreds of rides and seen many tire pumps come and go. One thing has remained true; those of us who purchased the Silca Super Pista Floor Pump, still use the same pump.
Silca is now, and may forever be, the gold standard for floor pumps. They are well built, durable and when it comes to the Silca Super Pista, completely rebuildable. So, if 20 years down the line a cylinder gasket wears out, you can order one for a few bucks as opposed to purchasing a brand new floor pump.
The Super Pista pump has the highest pressure limit available in a manual pump, topping out at a whopping 210psi. You just can’t find that kind of pressure in any other manual pump. Not Blackburn, Topeak, or Zefal gets that high, we know, we’ve tried.
The Silca Super Pista’s have a classic look and still use the original wooden handle and metal shaft, with a 36inch rubber hose. With so many other floor pumps on the market sporting all kinds of new fangled features, why buy Silca? Certainly you can find another one that could get you to 100psi in a few strokes? Sure, there are many that are more modern, sleeker and arguably easier to use.
