The Time Xen Carbon pedal is constructed out of a carbon
composite body and chrome plated steel axle with time’s 2 bearing system.
The Time Xen system provides riders with the ultimate in
adjustability. In the sea of ultra-light pedals, only Time is offering
Q-factor, lateral float, angular float and ‘Sensor Elasticity Tuner’ throughout
the RXS line.
The Q-factor allows you to set the distance from the
crank, 2.5mm closer in one position over the other. With lateral float
adjustment of 5mm and angular float of 5 degrees. The ‘Sensor Elasticity Tuner’
allows you to adjust the feel of the cleats float, from that of a free floating
system, similar to Speedplay, or to one more like Look or Shimano’s resistance
systems. As with previous Time pedals, their platform is wide to eliminate
potential hotspots.
Of course this all comes with Time’s legendary ‘pivot
from the center’ cleat design. The cleats can easily be walked on and do not
require cleat covers.
RXS line and Xen line appear to offer the same features
but at different price points. If you thought this you’d be dead on. Time is
leveraging its ability to construct a superior pedal for less while offering
all the same characteristics of the RXS line.
