Time has built a better mousetrap! Okay, so it’s not REALLY a mousetrap, but the new 2010 iClic Racer Carboflex Pedals work much like a mousetrap. When you step into the pedal, the spring snaps in with a distinctive click, and no worries it won’t smash your toes but it will keep your foot securely in the stirrup. (They will snap your fingers though, so they make for great office pranks!)

To develop the 2010 iClic Racer Carboflex Pedals, Time combined the design of their RXS and Xen pedals together for a new look and better functionality. The pedal body itself is a composite, but the Carboflex carbon blade spring allows Time to step away from the time-honored retention spring to bring forth this new carbon fiber plate that keeps you attached to the pedals. The carbon allows the pedal to react to the slightest bit of pressure to engage the locking mechanism. See, just like a mousetrap. This new system allows for effortless entry, even with the release tension cranked up.

Time has given the new iClic Racer Carboflex Pedals a low stack height, nice wide platform and pivot from the center system. The oversized platform has a surface area of whopping 447 square mm so you have better power distribution and fewer hot spots to concern yourself with.
The new cleat system is sadly not backwards compatible, but there’s compensation for that. The new cleats are of the superior Café Cleat design that is, by far, the most walkable cleat in the industry. They look much like the Time Impact Cleats, but these cleats are only to be used with the IClic system. The new Iclic cleats are not left/right specific. They are ultra-low profile and you’ve got a really low 2.5mm Q-Factor.

The pedals allow for five degrees of angular float, 2.5mm of lateral float and a 15 degree release angle. The body is a composite, the blade spring is carbon and the axle is steel. These Time Iclic Racer Carboflex Pedals come in White.
