The next generation of Time pedals is finally here and what is particularly fun is that the new lock in system is based on a mousetrap design. The iClic pedals use a new patented system that keeps the pedals open like a mousetrap so when you step in to them, they immediately close upon your cleats to give you a secure ride.

To develop this new generation of iClic Pedals, Time combined the design of their RXS and Xen pedals together for a new look and better functionality. The iclic pedals are made with a composite body, steel axle and a FiberFlex composite blade that Time patented because it was SO COOL! The new iclic system allows Time to step away from the time-honored retention spring to bring forth this automatic engagement system that keeps the pedal open until you give it pressure to engage the locking mechanism. Just like a mousetrap. This new system allows for effortless entry, even with the release tension cranked up.

Time has given the new iClic Pedals a low stack height, nice wide platform and pivot from the center system. The oversized platform has a surface area of whopping 447 square mm so you have better power distribution and fewer hot spots to concern yourself with.

The new cleat system is sadly not backwards compatible, but there’s compensation for that. The new cleats are of the superior Café Cleat design that is, by far, the most walkable cleat in the industry. They look much like the Time Impact Cleats, but these cleats are only to be used with the IClic system. The new Iclic cleats are not left/right specific. They are ultra-low profile and you’ve got a really low 2.5mm Q-Factor.

The pedals allow for five degrees of angular float, 2.5mm of lateral float and a 15 degree release angle. These base model Time Fiberflex Iclic Pedals only come in black
