Time has successfully shaved off an additional 60 grams off their already lightweight iClic Carbon Pedal (235 grams) by using a hollow titanium axle.

With the exclusive, patented, only Time has it, iClic technology, these Carbon Ti pedals are easy to get in and out of. Just simply step on in and go. No excessive force is required to get out of them either.

The iClic system works much like a ski binding in that the mechanism is open until you place the cleat into the pedal. After you unclick, a little trigger keeps the pedal in the open position until you are ready to click in again. Or rather, until you are ready to ‘iClic’ again. It takes very little pressure to engage the mechanism so the first few times you click in, you’ll double check to make sure its set. Ride assured that it is not only set, it will hold securely until you are ready to click out.

The Time iClic Carbon Ti uses the patented CarboFlex compressed carbon blade to replace the traditional coil-wound metal spring that is used to lock in your cleat. This not only significantly decreases the weight (which is down by 43% as compared to the titanium spring in previous Time pedals) it also improves fatigue resistance.

The full Carbon body has a nice wide platform with very low bio-position so you get optimal power transfer. But the ultimate of ultimates is the axle which is made with a hollow titanium. Talk about lightweight! These pedals weigh in at only 175 grams for the pair.

You will need iClic specific cleats for these pedals, but the new cleats are very low profile and even lighter than ever before. These pedals were designed to be lightweight, durable, and amazingly easy to use.
