Our first impression of this saddle was, “It even LOOKS fast! It is so sleek and so refined, but is it lightweight and comfortable?” After a bit of research and about 150 miles, the answers to those questions are yes, and yes.

We found the Selle Italia SLR Kit Carbonio Flow to be a well designed, lightweight, comfortable perch with a generous anatomical cutout, to keep all your important parts willing to participate on those longer rides.

The Selle Italia SLR saddle is slightly shorter than the San Marco Mantra or the Fizik Arione, which are both pretty long so be careful that you’re not hanging out on the nose. Find the sweet spot and you’ll be much happier at the end of a decent ride.

The Selle Italia SLR Kit Carbonio flow is built with the same 30% carbon composite shell as the other SLR models and matted to carbon rails. It offers the same cutout size as the SLR Gel Flow, but the SLR Carbonio Flow separates you from the shell with a thin layer of EVA padding. The EVA keeps it lighter with just the right amount of cushion to keep it comfortable. And at 115g, the SLR Carbonio Flow stays within the featherweight range for saddles.

Gram for gram, the Selle Italia SLR Kit Carbonio Flow is an absolutely beautiful saddle, both aesthetically and functionally. It’s covered in Lorica that stays strong against abrasions plus it has the Trans Am Anatomic cutout for increased comfort making it good for on and off road. It only comes in Black, but Black goes with everything, right?
