In a sea of carbon fiber products, bars, stems, cages, frames and even wheels, it seems aluminum needs to step up its drive for innovation. But wait, here comes Deda looking to take the lead spot on the aluminum team with the lightest aluminum stem we’ve ever seen. The Deda Zero100 Servizio Corse Stem rivals any ultra light carbon stem out there with a weight of 107 grams at 120mm in length making it lighter then even the Deda Forza Carbon. Rock on Aluminum!

Don’t get us wrong, carbon stems are great. They are lightweight and have proven increased durability over the years. But sometimes they just don’t out-perform the alloy enough to justify the increase in cost, especially when you consider the Deda Zero100 Servizio Corse Stem. The Zero100 Stem has state of the art construction using a 3D forging method which enables Deda to significantly reduce the thickness of the walls. As logic would dictate, a thinner wall reduces weight and that’s really what the carbon stem had over the alloy to begin with.

Oh, but will that thinner wall reduce the performance? Nope! The overall diameter keeps the stem stiff and reduces the flex while sprinting.

To further keep the weight down, the Zero100 Servizio Corse, uses titanium bolts, four of them to be exact. The use of four bolts increases the weight a little, but using the titanium makes that added weight a small compromise compared to the reduced failure rate offered by the even stress points along the face plate and bar. We think it’s a fair, if not generous, trade.

As for the specifics, the Zero100 Servizio Corse is available in 10mm increments from 90mm-130mm. You get the standard 82 degree rise as are in most the Deda stems. It’s only available with a 31.7mm clamp, (which will fit the 31.7 and the 31.8mm bars).
