With any Elite Cronos model you get the unique Crono frame that offers the ElastoGel roller system. The ElastoGel offers significantly less noise (as much as 50%) and much more resistance than your typical Magnetic trainer. The ElastoGel is much easier on your tires than normal roller systems (20% reduction in tire wear), and they work great on Mountain Bike tires too. The setup is super easy because the Crono frame uses the rider’s weight to ensure there is constant contact with the roller with no bolt or spring plate to adjust. Side note: Using the rider’s weight allows for more body movements to produce a more realistic ride than most magnetic trainers.

And speaking of rollers, the Crono Mag’s Elastogel rollers are 33% larger than normal rollers to reduce the noise even more. These units are so quiet you may want to print out this description and put it on your downstairs neighbor’s door so he knows what to get you for Christmas.

To keep you rockin’, there are five position resistance adjusters so you get a better workout regardless of whether you’re warming up or climbing hard. The resistance adjusters work by a simple twist action that is mounted on your handlebars for fast and easy access. It’s just like shifting gears. The resistance unit is magnetic (thus the name Mag), using powerful magnets that are placed on the flywheel with two discs that cross its magnetic field.

The unit comes fully pre-assembled, it folds flat for easy storage, although it is sexy enough to be a permanent fixture if you have the space. Plus, if you need it, the unit comes with a spare quick release for those using Mavic or similar quick release skewers.
