Upon first trial of the Elite Crono Power Fluid the first comment went something like this, “Man, dude, that’s the quietest trainer ever!” The amazing silence is due to the fluid resistance unit and the high tech roller that Elite is famous for. First up are the roller, the material is called Elastogel and even though it sounds like something out of a Marvel comic, it rocks. The Elite Crono Power Fluid uses the Elastogel rollers like the popular Elite SuperCrono Hydromag and the Elite SuperCrono Wireless, so it will naturally quiet.

What makes this the quietest trainer on the market is the fluid. The 2010 redesigned fluid resistance unit has a 40% wider power band and the ‘in board’ flywheel allows for the wider roller (33% wider then Elite competitors).

As before, you don’t have to regulate the pressure of the roller or the resistance unit on the tire and you don’t have to connect or disconnect the unit before or after the training either. The Crono system uses your body weight to keep it in the rollers on the resistance unit and what’s even better is that the flexible system reduces the effect on your bike’s frame and simulates the feeling of a real road ride.
