So, it’s time to get a trainer to keep you in shape through the cold and rainy season but you need to find a good trainer with an economical price. The Tacx Ecotrack is a great product at a great price. Or, if you are lacking in storage space, the Tacx Sporttrack is the one for you. The Tacx Sporttrack is a durable trainer with a roller system that will help you improve your form and pedaling efficiency AND, it folds away nicely for easy storage.

The Sporttrack is simple to operate. Its one piece frame is set close to the floor so you won’t pull a hamstring on the mount or dismount. Small PVC rollers are cross sectioned at 80mm keeping it stable and secure and they have a finely ribbed profile for that extra grip. Plus, to be sure you are comfortable, the rollers are acutely aligned to prevent vibration. We won’t lie, typical rollers are a bit difficult to balance on at first, but you’ll get used to it and be checking your bike computer, without falling, in no time at all.

Construction is very simple, although we do recommend actually reading the instructions first, but here’s the gist of it. Take the six nuts (with washers), put them on to the studs from the rollers (through the frame of course), then you’re ready to ride. See, simple! But before you go all out, you may want to put the Sporttrack NEAR the wall so you don’t take a header on your first time. With some practice these rollers will become like second nature.
