Saddles, the great elusive beast. So many to choose from, how does one find the perfect fit? For those of you on the hunt for saddle nirvana, Koobi offers up their SI Classic Gel saddle for your consideration. We are attaching one word to describe this saddle, plush. It is soft and comfy like a plush sofa.

At 263mm long and 160mm wide, it’s a good sized saddle without being too large (use our Cheek-to-Cheek system to see if it’s a good size for your sit bones). If you’re looking for a firm saddle with a minimalistic design, you may want to look elsewhere because the best part of the SI Classic Gel is how amazingly soft the padding is, without being overly mushy. No one likes a mushy saddle, but if you’re more into the hard saddles like the Selle Italia Flite Kit Carbonio, then this one won’t fit your needs. It provides more cushion for the pushin’.

The nose width is what impressed us the most. It is a wider saddle than most on the market. Wider even than the SMP Glider. We measured it ourselves to compare it and somehow, with all the great padding and the extended width, Koobi managed to reduce the nose by a full 2mm from the SMP Glider, keeping it at a relatively slim 49mm. This should really cut down on any chaffing you may be experiencing. It’s like a saddle designed to save your shorts, literally.

Koobi SI Classic Gel saddle gives you a nice long cutout, not full length, but full enough. The cutout goes from the midpoint of the saddle to the nose where you need it the most. That cutout offers an increase in the possible positions and tremendous pressure relief on your oh so sensitive soft parts. Although it is not a female specific saddle, like the SLR Lady Gel Flow, the Koobi SI Classic Gel is a popular choice for women because of the generous cutout for soft tissue relief.

The Koobi SI Classic Gel is constructed in Italy, by Selle Italia. So it's well built though it's a less expensive saddle. Instead of typical Selle Italia saddles, the Koobi is finished in Lorica which is the same “like leather” material Sidi uses in their uber soft shoes. It’s like leather in every way that counts, soft and supple. Plus it has a longer life span and is not easily damaged by water, weather or abuse.

How do you do it?
Run the lights real low and use carrier pigeons for delivery. All joking aside, this item is bulk packaging and was purchased as overrun; the extra saddles made to fill an order. We bought the container and passing the savings on to you.
