Now, as with all saddles, point of preference will differ amongst the masses, some feel the SLR XC’s hull shape disagrees with their dungarees. We have “that guy” here in the office. But for the most part, the Selle Italia SLR XC has received great reviews amongst our samplers.
When you first get on the SLR XC you will feel the rubberized center strip that goes right down the middle of the saddle. This channel is created by using less padding down the center. It provides added relief without a big cutout and serves your back on those long rides by keeping you centered in the saddle no matter how hard you pedal. In addition to the lack of slip sliding away, we noticed the chafing and bunching of the bike shorts was cut down as well.
The padding is self molding for a perfect fit to your perfect behind. The shell is made in the tradition of the SLR series with a 30% carbon composite. The Lorica covering boasts a high abrasion resistance and is durable as durable can get with its Kevlar reinforced hide. The railing system is made with the Tubular Vanox rails that Selle Italia is famous for.
