Its back! The Selle Italia Flite is back! The original Selle Itaila Flite remained a favorite throughout its initial introduction and when they took it off the market, many questioned why. It is so hard to find the perfect saddle and many felt they had found it in the Flite. Dozens of saddles later, Selle Italia has brought it the original design as the Flite Classic.

Just like its predecessor, the Selle Italia Flite Classic works well for all aspects of riding. The smooth surface is great for moving around on the saddle. The narrow long nose is superior for out of the saddle clearance and you can get your butt way forward on seated climbs. The rear of the saddle is narrow enough to easily keep behind you for the downhills yet the perfect size for the sit. Sure, there are some reviews about it being hard and tough on the boys, but as we always say, saddles are a completely personal choice.

The Flite Classic is a minimalist saddle with very little padding. It really doesn’t “look” very comfortable at all. However, after these puppies get broken in, they are said to be the most comfortable and functional saddles that Selle Italia makes. If you need more padding, get padded shorts. Personally, we like the idea of putting the padding in the shorts, not in the saddle. So if you’re having trouble finding saddle nirvana, perhaps a real good pair of shorts is the answer.

The Selle Italia Flite Classic is free of bulky stitching that just gets in the way. The one piece leather cover allows for a smoother surface for easy position shifting. The rails are Vanox rails for a strong, stable, yet lightweight saddle. Weighing in at only 222 grams, the Flite Classic is 279mm long and 144mm wide. It comes in classic black.
