You really shouldn’t take the bike out without a good multi-functional tool. If you do, you will one day have to come back to this site and apologize for doubting us.

If you’d rather start small, try the Barbieri Carb 7 multi function tool. It is the minimum you should ever get in a multi tool. It’s like a starter tool that you carry for that “just in case” repairs. If it’s a simple fix, you can definitely do it with the Barbieri Carb 7. However, with issues like a broken chain link, you’ll need to upgrade to the Barbieri Carb 11. Both are excellent tools.

The Carb 7 has a Carbon plating for durability and is quite small and compact so it can fit in your pocket or in the smaller utility pouches. The weight is nice and low at only 64 grams.

The Carb 7 comes with five Allen wrenches that work in a pinch for adjusting issues while on a ride away from your garage or a bike shop. The sizes range from 2mm to 6mm (2,3,4,5,6). You also get a flat head screwdriver and a Phillips head screwdriver should there be a real screw to tighten along the way.
