Tested in all weather and race conditions, and several years in the Tour de France, the Campagnolo Record 10 Ultra-Drive Cassette boasts Campy’s dedication to perfection.

Sporting Campy’s Ultra Shift Technology, the Record 10-speed Ultra Drive Cassette is so smooth and quiet, you can enjoy the serenity of the ride without even thinking about the shift.  With a new and improved cog tooth synchronization, the teeth on each cog are now harmonized for precision of shape and style to reduce the stress that promotes premature wear and tear.  Speaking of reshaping of the cogs, part of the Ultra Shift technology also includes a new design of the outer links which allows the chain to link in perfectly with the cogs on the cassette, especially the ones with the Santa hat shape that guides the chain links through the shifting patterns effortlessly.

To increase the shifting capacity and speed, the Ultra Shift cog configuration works flawlessly with the 10 speed Ergopower shift levers.  Evidently all this adds up to about 13% less for rear derailleur shifts as opposed to the shifting before this new design.  We’re not sure who comes up with those numbers, but that’s what Campy said, so we believe Campy.

Another big improvement over past designs are the lowest three gears on the Record 10 Cassette.  Campy made these lowest three cogs out of titanium while the other seven are made from a nickel-chrome coated steel for increased durability.

If you are looking for prolonged usage in your components, the Record 10 Cassette will be a good investment.  It’s not as lightweight as some of the full Ti units out there, but when it comes down to it, the steel cogs are actually more durable than the Titanium cogs because they are coated with nickel-chrome to increase durability.  Plus, steel is a harder, more durable material than Titanium so you can most likely expect a longer lifespan out of a Record 10 cassette than its competitors.

The Campagnolo Record 10 cassette comes with a lightweight alloy lockring on models with the 11 tooth.
