Basic, yet versatile, the wireless Sigma BC 1609 STS is perfect for training and daily rides.  Giving you the essential information you will need on a ride including a stopwatch, countdown functions and an optional cadence, the Sigma BC 1609 STS is all you really need.

The full-bodied display boasts large digits so you can actually see it without crashing.  And for further ease of use, the buttons are easy to find and easy to use.  All the information is right there at your fingertips where you need it to be so you don’t have to take your eyes off the road for more than just a glance.   When you get home after a ride, you can slap the unit into the optionally available docking station to allow your personal computer to acquire and formulate the data from each ride.

The Sigma BC 1609 STS comes with seven language settings, two wheel size adjustments, automatic recognition of a second bike.   You get actual speed, average speed, maximum speed, trip distance and a comparison of your current and average speeds.   And, although this isn’t shown while you’re riding, the 1609 STS will give you the total distance between your first and second bikes, should you use more than one.  To calculate your times, the Sigma BC 1609 STS gives you total riding time, a clock, a stopwatch, a countdown timer and the total ride time of both your bikes.  Again that calculation cannot be shown while riding.

The STS is digitally encoded with a three channel wireless transmitter to provide a more accurate stream of virtually ‘real time’ ride data.  The start/stop function is activated by a magnetic impulse on the speed sensor that will automatically activate the computer when it detects motion and the automatic shut off will switch the computer to rest mode after five minutes of inactivity.  This feature saves your batteries.  And speaking of batteries, the battery status is continually monitored by the unit and it will let you know early on if you need to replace the battery.  But no worries, the Sigma BC 1609 STS has a storage chip for backup so you won’t lose any data.

The Sigma BC 1609 STS unit is black and silver and it comes with a universal handlebar bracket, speed transmitter, a spoke magnet, and everything you will need to mount the unit.
