The Deda SuperZero Carbon Post in White!

The Deda SuperZero Seatpost was certainly not the first carbon seatpost on the market, but it does stand above the crowd for several reasons. While other seatposts are made with aluminum caps bonded to carbon-fiber tubes, the Deda Super Zero Seatpost is constructed with a monocoque method. For those of you who don’t use the word “monocoque” in daily language, it means the Deda SuperZero Seatpost is constructed using a technique that supports structural load by using the object's external skin as opposed to using the internal frame or truss that is then covered with a non-load-bearing skin. Monocoque construction was initially used in aircraft in the 1930s. This monocoque method (say that three times fast) seems to make the SuperZero Seatpost lighter, more elegant and significantly more refined than other posts on the market today.

The upgrades Deda made to their first generation Black Stick design are impressive to say the least. They’ve added a two-bolt micro clamp system that is much more adjustable and significantly more stable than the single bolt that was used on the Black Stick. This makes the Deda Super Zero Seatpost a good deal more functional than its predecessors.

Despite the lightweight carbon materials, Deda chose not to place a weight limit on the rider. They do this because they feel that riding style is much more important than how big or small a rider is; at least when it comes to durability of their product. We agree.

The Deda Super Zero is the lightest of the Deda Seat Post line; weighing 166 grams. It comes in two diameters, 27.2mm and 31.6mm. The length is 335mm with a setback of only 21mm. The seatpost is carbon, but the clamp has an aluminum mounting plate, aluminum clamping nuts and two steel bolts.

The Skid's Tip – If you must measure, torque the bolts to 14Nm. And no more.
