In this time of ‘challenge’ Challengetech was born and they began producing tires under their own name Challenge.

The Challenge Criterium Tubular is in keeping with the most traditional of tubular construction. The center tread runs front to back to reduce rolling resistance and lateral herringbone like tread offers outstanding grip. Between the 300tpi cotton casing and tread, an anti-puncture strip offers the best in modern puncture protection.
Where the Challenge Criterium tubular truly shines is the shape, the result of bonding the tread to the casing with an inflating case. This allows the tire to form a naturally round shape at the time of construction. A time consuming process that rewards riders with miles of tubular ecstasy.
