The Elite Real Axiom CT Virtual Reality Trainer is Elite’s best match to the Tacx Fortius trainer. Yes it looks very similar to their Elite RealPower unit but they don’t beat with the same heart.
While all other aspects of the trainer experience are the same, ritmo feet, fast fixing clamp, wireless multiplayer support, and even the same software with real-life videos, the brake unit is dramatically different.
While the Elite RealPower will push grades up to 20% the Elite Real Axiom is limited to grades of 8-10% because it’s using an electronic braking unit. This difference pushes the max watts down to 1100 from nearly 2500 on the RealPower model. Like the RealPower, the Real Axiom roller is covered with ElastoGel. The ElastoGel rollers are 50% larger (45mm, 15mm more than the usual 30mm ones) to give you better distribution of tire pressure and better tire adherence, making them more tire friendly, plus the larger roller gives you lower RPM’s for less overall vibration and a lot less noise.
The Elite Real Axiom base is the same unit found on the Power Fluid Ritmo. As such it uses the Ritmo’s ‘dancing feet’ design which allows the frame to move gently underneath you. This provides a more realistic training experience while reducing the stress on your frame. Fixing your bike in the trainer is made easy with a quick adjusting axle clamp, now with a bigger handle.
