The Campagnolo Centaur 10 Speed Ergopower Power-Shift Alu-Carbon Shifters use a Power Shift Mechanism that provides fast and precise shifting. This allows you to up shift by three gears at a time or downshift by one with just a single action. 

To make the shifters comfortable the Centaur’s feature Campy’s Hallmark Ergopower Controls. The controls were developed after extensive research found that cyclists have three hand positions while riding. The controls were designed around these three hand positions, making them mold perfectly to your hand for ultimate control while shifting or braking. This is preferable over the traditional, two hand position design. 

To further ensure ultimate comfort, Campagnolo incorporates their Vari-Cushion hoods. The Vari-Cushion is a silicone rubber that is used on the hoods. It is varied in thickness for maximum comfort. It acts as a shock absorber, soaking up road vibration and providing great comfort to your palms.

The Centaur shifters use carbon fiber with an aluminum core for the look of carbon with the budget balance of aluminum.
