The Campagnolo Neutron Ultra wheelset moves the Neutron line to the lightest it’s been. With the addition of carbon fiber in the hubs and lighter rim technology the Neutron Ultra wheels are 80 grams lighter than Campy Neutron wheels.

The rims on the Campagnolo Neutron Ultra are constructed from extruded aluminum. They are low profile with both front and rear at a mire 20mm deep. Campy has removed 2mm in excess material on the top of the rim between the nipples in an effort to save additional weight. The rear rim uses asymmetrical spokes closer to the non-drive side of the rim. While the front uses a standard radial pattern.

The spokes on the Neutron Ultra are aero black stainless steel spokes. You might say it’s a cross between standard stainless steel and full blown aluminum aero spokes that creating a firmer ride. The stainless steel aero spokes find a happy medium giving the wheel a forgiving ride while maintaining lateral and torsional stiffness. The asymmetrical rear spoke configuration provides improved wheel dish and lateral rigidity on the rear wheel.

The hubs on Campagnolo Neutron Ultra wheel set are fantastic. Using the same inner construction methods as found on their record hubs the Campy Neutron Ultra wheels shed a few extra grams with the addition of carbon fiber and aluminum flanges. With the hub also comes a new skewer system that is easier to use..

The Campagnolo Neutron Ultra wheels perform well in most applications. Due to the box section rim they are not as aero dynamic as medium or deep dish wheels. However their light weight and low profile rims make it easy to spin up out of a corner, over a hill and they stop on a dime. Great crit and climbing wheels.
