The Continental Grand Prix Attack & Force Tires Now
with Black Chili use specific front and rear designs with different compounds
and tire widths to create a new riding experience. Continental calls it ‘TPS’
also known as Tire Positioning System.
The Continental Grand Prix Attack front tire is 700x22mm;
1mm narrower then the rear. Continental chose not to go narrower on the front tire to preserve optimal cornering characteristics. The GP Attack front also gets an extra sticky
compound that gives the front tire more grip than one might expect from a 22mm
tire. The front tire is light; weighing in at 190 grams with a 3plies/330tpi
case and one anti-puncture breaker behind the tread.
The Continental Grand Prix Force rear tire is 700x24mm; 2mm wider than the front for maximum power transfer to the road. The wider width
provides more tread and comfort. Continental put an extra anti-puncture breaker
in the rear tire for a total of two and increased the number of plies and TPI
in the casing to 3plies/330tpi for the best puncture resistance possible. The
rear weighs in at 210grams.
Still hand made in Germany this tire combo is
fantastic. The combination of the sticky front compound and the wider rear tire
provides unmatched cornering.
Purchase includes one front and one rear.
