The Campagnolo Neutron wheel set is the original Neutron with a more traditional construction.
The rims on the Campagnolo Neutron are constructed from extruded aluminum. They are low profile with both front and rear at a mire 20mm deep. These rims stay unmilled, and are slightly heavier then the Neutron Ultra. The rear rim uses asymmetrical spokes closer to the non-drive side of the rim; the same technology as the Ultra version. While the front uses a standard radial pattern.
The spokes on the Neutron are black stainless steel. The asymmetrical rear spoke configuration provides improved wheel dish and lateral rigidity on the rear wheel.
The hubs on Campagnolo Neutron wheelset are fantastic. Using the same construction as their record hubs the Campy Neutron wheels are finished off in back. With the hub also comes a new skewer system that is easier to use.
The Campagnolo Neutron wheels perform well in most applications. The added weight is due to simpler rim conduction and aluminum hub bodies. Don’t let that fool you these wheels still perform very well in crit, climbing and intense group rides.
